About Stone Fort
Chattanooga, TN and it’s surrounding areas include probably the highest concentration of high quality, world-class climbing terrain in the entire Southern US. Bulletproof sandstone featuring endless sport, trad, crack, and bouldering routes can be found just a short drive from the metro center of Chattanooga.
The Stone Fort property is a unique and beautiful landscape located on Mowbray Mountain, just 19 miles north of Chattanooga. The property encompasses the Stone Fort Bouldering and Leda Sport Climbing areas as well as the Montlake Golf Course.
About Us
We are climbers.
We have recently become the new stewards of this one-of-a-kind property. Our goal is to preserve the climbing access while also returning the property to its full potential for the enjoyment of all the visitors who come to Stone Fort and Montlake.
We are currently working with the Southeastern Climbers Coalition as well as The Friends of the Cumberland Trail to improve trails and access. We are also working with golf course and landscape architecture specialists to help us improve the golf course and return it to its former beauty.
